What Wheel Adapters Do

A wheel adapter bolts to your hub with your vehicle’s bolt pattern and gives you a new set of studs in a different pattern, for example to run 5x114.3 wheels on a 5x120 car.

Because an adapter has thickness, it also moves the wheel out, the same way a spacer does. Plan the wheel offset with that in mind.

Adapters are also used to put wire wheels and classic wheels on vehicles they were not made for.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a spacer and an adapter?
A spacer keeps your bolt pattern and only moves the wheel out. An adapter changes the bolt pattern, and it moves the wheel out by its thickness too. See Wheel Spacers.
Can I put wire wheels on my car with an adapter?
In many cases, yes. Tell us your vehicle and the wheel you want, or browse Player Wire Wheels, and call (330) 707-4545.
How do I find my bolt pattern?
Use our Vehicle Sizing lookup: pick your year, make and model to see the bolt pattern and hub size.
